Right Angle Gear Box

The heavy duty right angle gearbox is designed for a double drum drawworks drive arrangement.

The right angle gear train is a spiral bevel gear set with hardened steel gears. The gearbox case is fabricated from high strength heavy steel tubing to minimize distortion. Gears and bearings are lubricated by oil bath arrangement. All shafts are machined from high strength heat-treated steel. Input shaft bearings are double Timken with straight roller bearings at the pinion end. The output shaft is supported on spherical bearings.

Gear Box Specifications:

  • Gear Type: Spiral gears
  • Gear Ratio: 1.04:1

Model CE350DD Drawworks

The WTD-00350 rig features a Crown CE350DD, double drum conventional style drawworks with band brakes. The drums are dynamically balanced and the brake rims are finished-ground to round after installation to ensure even and positive braking. The drawworks main drum is supplied with 1" Lebus grooving to provide wireline spooling.

Hoist bearings and brake mechanisms are lubricated with a centralized Alemite system. Chain lubrication is accomplished with an oil bath system located in fully enclosed chain guards.

The brake flanges are removable. Each flange is heat-treated and has been subject to a Brinell hardness test thus, ensuring long life.

The 330-degree wrap, fully equalized, adjustable brake bands are actuated by a linkage which increases the driller's mechanical advantage as the brake handle moves through its operating arc.

All drum shafts are made from high strength, heat-treated and stress relieved, chrome-moly manganese steel.

Drum shaft bearings are long life, double row, self-aligning roller bearings.

All components are independently assembled using only parts that have passed demanding quality control and inspection departments.
